"Bloody Hands" is intended to create a "Gesamtkunstwerk", a universal artwork, developing the Wagnarian approach of art further. It means including all artistic disciplines or many of them, which I find very suitable for today's artist, who is not merely a painter, or a musician, or, or, or anymore, but usually engaged on many levels to express her or his art.
If art wants to change society, it has to affect more than only one sense.
So filtered under that aspect, I will give you an update of what happened so far via quoting letters I received and my diary.
Aww, I'm actually so impressed by how phenomenally this is coming together! Let me give you a list of people, who already became active, and their main or professional field of art.
Remy - video artist
Martin - theater director and musician
Henning - rockstar
Sonja - graphic designer
Courtney - choreographer and dancer
Jean Paul - photo artist and poet
Alex - writer and poet
Courtney - writer
Stephan - tba
Ramin - tba
Francis - painter and architect
Gerhard - painter
Reginald - fashion designer and performer
Soma - artist and performer
Andreas - composer
Veronica - writer
Yeah, given, that hardly anybody knows about "Bloody Hands" yet, this is great. Change in plan: I have to go, but I will write more later.

My tools for 'Bloody Hands", it's an amazing world we live in.
I just ordered "Bloody Hands" business cards. I am amazed how easily and cheap one can do this. Great! I have so much on my agenda, anything that saves time is good.
Again, it's aesthetically limited, like this blog, but it does the job. I need those cards to pass out something fast, when people start asking about what "Bloody Hands" is.
Other than that, you might have noticed that I'm making use of the most minimal technical advances that mostly anybody can have an easy access to, no fancy artsy complexity. Not for this.
I'm using a blog that's open for anybody, twitter, facebook will soon come in. Easily available, barely customized templates. I got the new iPhone for photo and video documentation, and for mobile use of all other tools. I do not want this to be interpreted as any type of skill. It would be wrong to invest in skillful behavior here. This reflects our western world as is.
I very much have to write the intention and definitions of "Bloody Hands". My head is buzzing though, so tomorrow. Time for action, give me some mars bar, New York and a beer - and there better be some adventure out there. Ah, what am I saying, there always is.
The precursor of the second launch is sent out
I just sent out emails to a small group of friends for the second launch of "Bloody Hands". This is getting exciting now, since more people will be involved from now on.
The email will not be published on this blog like the first launch email was. Reason is that transparency is good, but unfiltered information is becoming useless - see the stupid aspect of social sites, twitter and the like.
If you would like to participate in the second launch you are more than welcome to.
I will gladly send you the email upon request. In fact: you rock!
To all who might now or later on be upset, that they have not initially been integrated and correctly believe they should have been: Blood on my hands!

Giving structure
Over the last days "Bloody Hands" has become obsessive. I barely have thoughts that aren't reflecting, creating, analyzing, synthesizing or dealing in any manner with the idea.
I need to limit this. I need to focus and give this a structure. I need to form clear intentions, solidify my art past to directionally project into future.
I need to consider internal process, while not loosing the external.
My next steps are pretty much defined. When it comes to involving others, I have to be very clear though. Chaos can't take away from the excitement. Excitement will carry this. I need to be clear, before I can make "Bloody Hands" clear. This is quite painful. This is also incredibly pleasurable. I am so driven.

Making things happen
I sent out a couple of visual concepts and possibilities to Jean Paul Niko for photography. He says he is in. Like all of us New York people he is quite busy, this is set on its track now. Fantastic.
I'm refraining from writing longish theoretical concepts about "Bloody Hands", though they are all in my head. Art history is, contemporary philosophy is.
I will use twitter for my urge to communicate artist statements. I'm reminded of a great art thing the German artist and my friend, Mark Formanek, did in the late 80s - it might be still ongoing. The "archive of 100 statements".
Random people send in 100 random statements. He, in a very steam punk way, put those statements type writer written on sheets and exhibits the archive. I hope he still has it.
I would love to see my 100 statements from back then. Mine were obviously ;) not random, but followed a very complicated art-within-art concept. Some people have to smash their brain against the wall many times, before it starts working. I'm pleading guilty.
Gee, Mark Formanek is so steam-steam punk, there is so few online. He didn't even have a cell phone some years ago.
Great artist! His last project I could find is this http://www.standard-time.com/
Very pretty. I wonder who convinced him to make this an iPhone application. Haha.
I'll create a twitter account now, for my 1000 and another one statements. Smash my head against the wall again until it's really bloody, so that I can raise my hands to hold it. Oh yeah. I start loving being guilty.

The first creative outburst about "Bloody Hands" in form of an email to Jean Paul Niko on 7/17/10
Hey Jean Paul Niko.
I'm doing art. Oh yeah. It's called "Bloody hands".
I would like your support and help.
It's real easy, which makes it so great. It actually extends and renews what art is in a non-silly way AND it's beautiful. And wasn't that, what I always wanted.
It's also intensely critical to what art is these days and in general in a nice way. Rrrrr, I could write a whole philosophy about it, but I'm the artist. May others do that.
This is how it works. People including me, paint their hands red as a symbol for having blood on their hands. That's it.
I'm only the initiator of it. The artist is everybody. I'm making others artists. I'm making others a piece of art. This all can be done everywhere. It can be done any time. This all can be documented in any way, which then again is art as well.
The art is a group thing. The art needs support, the art lives off [] media and promotion.
Content wise, obviously having blood on your hands is quite meaningful. By doing it, it's basically pleading guilty, or acknowledging guilt [for me N.Y]. All of us have blood on their hands, so it makes something visible that is invisible. That's crucial to art discussion. It transforms people. Outwardly and inwardly. It's educational as in experiencing how easy it is to live with bloody hands and how cool and how beautiful. I don't even need to become political or spiritual or anything like that, it does it by itself. It means something different to everybody. It reveals truth. It goes super well, with my apocalyptic approach that I always had, unveiling all. It goes well with the objectification/humanization thing I always had. It goes well with transferring something onto yourself. It totally fits the whole Nikki art development. It's so [] me.
So what needs to be done? A lot can be done.
I would want you as main photographer. I could imagine people taking photos themselves or documenting otherwise. But for a proper presentations or exhibits I would want you to be the main photographer when it comes to photo as documenting media.
I mean, you're the best and especially when it comes to people photography. We can develop a visual concept together, if you want.
From my part all is good. But one can sure make it better than good.
I obviously would want you to run around with bloody hands as much as possible. I was thinking, I should give a start shot to it, and involve more people to simply do it.
To promote and spread it, I should get some key people to do it. Yeah right, the artist as the event planner. Terrible, but what wouldn't I do for art.
It can only be for special occasions, only for a photo, every day, I don't care. It just needs to be done.
I want helpers who provide people with paint. It's so easy, put a splash of paint in somebody's hand like lotion and let them rub it in. Done.
I'm not opposed to prettier ways of showing blood on hands, more artificial and styly. It's a fashion statement as well.
Oh, if I could get a fashion designer to do it for a runaway thing, like a real famous one. Great. Or a band.
Yeah, isn't contemporary art so much design. It's got movement character. I want it to be least activist as possible though. For what it's worth, it's supposed to be beautiful - on all levels. It's activist and actionism in itself.
Man, it's brilliant!
The more beautiful the person, the more beautiful the piece of art. Yeah, take that, ugly bastards, hehe.
It's not opposing the art market. It's underground and guerilla though, it should be viral. Art that isn't underground or hasn't been underground at some point is worthless anyways. These little academy fuckers. Go to hell. [don't feel offended, I'm probably not talking about you. N.Y.]
So, enough for now. What do you think? Can you also be my critic and adviser, of how to execute.
I obviously have many ideas, which makes it so contemporary as well. facebook and twitter and all that silly stuff. These are our times though. It's the perfect mirror of our times, and damn does art need to be that.
It's a mirror on so many levels. It's brilliant.
You're the first I'm telling. I want to do this. I want to stir it all up.

Starting the Blog
Today I am working on creating this blog as part of "Bloody Hands".
I am asking myself, is this beautiful? Is this good? I am using the most common available blogging platform. Anybody can use this. This is good. It has aesthetical limitations to it, but this is how it is. I'm getting there. Work in progress.
I'm also plotting out all my future steps. There are tons. I need to change my facebook profile. Lots of work on facebook. Twitter, twitter is great. I'll skip myspace as old fashioned, maybe I'll do that later.
This blog is a primary source of information. So this needs to get done fast. It's a hell lot of work, but what don't I do for art?
