This is only one documentary blog of "Bloody Hands". Nikki York is only one artist out of many involved,  and just so happens to be the initiator. We are having a network and we are building a more extended network.

I am working on finding proper ways of presenting all the incoming art work and on making sure, that people's efforts will be seen and heard.

Here is a list of what "Bloody Hands: means to people, what they associate with it, in no specific order:
  • taking responsibility for violence in this world by confessing to implicitely co-commit as human
  • a fashion statement
  • the result of blood involving sexual acts
  • HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases
  • "heart blood" that shows on the hands as victim of unrepeated or mistreated love
  • crime, murder, assasination as a heroic act and justification thereof
  • reference to the currant BP oil disaster
  • menstrual blood, fertility and feminism
  • reference to Jesus and the stigmata
  • reverted biblical washing hands in innocence
  • vampirism, zombies and other undead
  • leaving identifying traces
  • innocence via not leaving fingerprints but only stains
  • sign for equality of races (same blood color, different skin color)
  • desire to live as one humanity and being connected
